Champion race mare Black Caviar has been chosen for induction into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame. The choice marks only the second time a horse has received this honor while still racing.
Trained by Peter Moody, the mare is unbeaten in 23 starts, a world record for horses competing at the elite level. She has won $7,104,936.
Black Caviar has won 13 Group 1 races as well as many national and international honors such as being named Australia’s Horse of the Year in 2011 and 2012. The six-year-old mare was also chosen to receive the World Champion Sprinter Award in 2011, 2012, and 2013.
