University of Minnesota Offers Two Educational Events By Kentucky Equine Research Staff · August 15, 2012
The third annual Horse Forage Field Day will be held August 28 at the Leatherdale Equine Center on the St. Paul campus of the University of Minnesota. The focus of the event is “Establishing a New Pasture.”
Topics will include soil sampling and fertilizing, plant selection, seed bed preparation, and grazing management. Participants will also hear the latest results of equine forage research. The program starts at 6:00 p.m. and the cost is $15, which includes a proceedings and a light snack. Preregistration is required. Click here for more information.
The Minnesota Nutrition Conference will be held in Owatonna, Minnesota, on September 19. Frank Andrews, D.V.M., M.S., from Louisiana State University will discuss “Optimizing Equine Gut Health” and Rebecca Watson, Ph.D., will present “Role of Probiotics and Interaction with Other Additives.” Industry professionals from various feed manufacturers will hold a roundtable on the use of prebiotics and probiotics and other elements to improve gut health.
